Professional Risks Underwriter - Affinities - Manchester


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a specialist Professional Risks insurance provider working within the Affinities and Schemes space. Following extensive growth in the business they are looking to bolster their existing team with additional resource to continue to grow and deliver exceptional service to customers.

The perfect candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and a good knowledge of Professional Risks Underwriting.

The Role: 


  • Profitably underwrite Professional Lines business as part of affinities and scheme relationships.
  • Operate within company strategy and authority limits and refer all cases outside of strategy or individual limits.
  • Develop and maintain strong trading relationships with various trade bodies and institutes to help deliver exceptional service to their members to set us apart from our competitors.
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced members of the team to share your knowledge and experience.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of what is happening in the insurance market and be one step ahead.

The Candidate:


  • Strong trading skills with experience in developing broker accounts to achieve profitable growth.
  • Underwriting knowledge, specifically with previous experience in Professional Risks.
  • Motivated, driven and adapts to change, positively displaying a can do attitude.
  • Willingly provides help and support to others and has the ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Passionate about own development within the insurance industry.
  • To assess and analyse data accurately and effectively.
  • The ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • A solutions focussed approach to trading.
  • Work independently but also as part of a team to deliver common goals.
  • The ability to demonstrate meeting & exceeding personal and team objectives.
  • An awareness of the market and legal/industry developments.
